Why this summer matters

Good grades are no longer enough

Universities, scholarship committees and employers now look for teens who have done something, not just studied something. Grades open the door. Real experience is what makes your teen stand out once they walk through it.

Ask yourself: has your teen ever…

  • Led a team of teens they met that same week?
  • Pitched their own idea to real judges, in English?
  • Built a business plan with real numbers behind it?
  • Lived on a college campus, managing their own day?
  • Walked inside companies like Starbucks and SAP to see how they really work?
  • Made close friends from across the Americas?

Most teens reach college without ever doing any of this. At BIZNOVATOR Camp, your teen does all of it in two weeks, in a safe, fully supervised environment.

See how it works

The transformation

From “I don’t know what I want” to “Here’s my plan”

Two weeks is short. What changes in your teen is not. This is the shift we see in our campers, summer after summer.

  • ConfidenceNervous to speak up in class
Pitches their own business to a panel of real judges
  • IndependenceCounts on you to organize every day
Manages their own routine on a college campus
  • DirectionUnsure what to study or where
Has explored real companies and several university campuses
  • EnglishKnows English from the classroom
Lives, works and presents in English, every day
  • NetworkThe same circle of friends from school
Friends and mentors from across the Americas
  • PortfolioAn application with grades and little else
A business plan, pitch deck, résumé and LinkedIn profile to show for it

Frequently asked questions

Everything parents usually ask us

The program

What is BIZNOVATOR Camp?

A two-week residential entrepreneurship and leadership experience for teens ages 15 to 19, from June 27 to July 10, 2027, on FIU’s campus in Miami. Teens build and pitch a real business, visit companies and universities, and live the independence of college life, 100% in English.

Is the camp run by FIU?

No. FIU is our host: campers live and learn on the campus of the #2-ranked undergraduate international business program in the U.S. (U.S. News). The program is designed, led and supervised by BIZNOVATOR.

How good does my teen’s English need to be?

The camp is 100% in English as part of the immersion. Your teen should be able to follow a conversation and participate. If you’re unsure, our team can help you assess it before you enroll.

Is it all study, or do they have fun too?

Both. Along with workshops and business planning, teens explore Wynwood, South Beach and the Everglades, enjoy water sports at Tigertail Lake, play sports and make friends from across the Americas.

Does my teen get 1:1 coaching during camp?

Yes. Each camper receives an average of 4–6 hours of 1:1 coaching for their pitch and team projects, on top of the daily group sessions.

What is the Seed Capital Pitch Competition?

On the final day, teams pitch the business they built to a panel of judges. The top teams earn seed capital for their idea, followed by an awards ceremony.

What happens after camp?

The journey continues with live group follow-up sessions through the Stage III Virtual Journey and the BIZNOVATOR alumni network.

Travel & visa

Are flights included?

Flights are not included. We do include airport pick-up and drop-off at Miami International Airport (MIA) and all local transportation during camp.

When should my teen arrive and leave?

Campers arrive on June 27, 2027 and depart on July 10, 2027. Our team shares the exact arrival and departure windows during the prep calls.

Do you provide a letter for the U.S. visa?

Yes. We issue an invitation letter confirming that your teen will attend the camp for two weeks as a visitor. It supports the application, but the final decision always belongs to the embassy.

Is travel insurance required?

Yes. Every international camper needs travel insurance, arranged by the family before the trip. In addition, on-campus insurance coverage is mandatory and included in tuition.

Does my teen need special permission to travel alone?

It depends on your country and your airline. Many require a notarized travel consent for minors. We share guidance during the prep calls so you can prepare in time.

What should my teen pack?

We share a complete packing list and answer every question about luggage during the monthly prep calls.

Can my teen arrive earlier or stay longer in Miami?

Yes, but any time before check-in or after check-out is outside the program and is not supervised by BIZNOVATOR.

Safety & daily life

Who supervises the campers?

The BIZNOVATOR team of staff, coaches and volunteers supervises the full daily schedule, from 6:30 AM to 11 PM, including regular room checks.

Where will my teen sleep?

At FIU’s Lakeview Hall, an on-campus residence. Dorms are separated by gender, and roommates are mixed by country so teens build friendships across cultures.

What happens if my teen gets sick?

We track each camper’s medication and special needs from registration. Parents sign a medical authorization so our team can act quickly if you can’t be reached, and the on-campus coverage and travel insurance support the care. Medical services are available on campus.

Can my teen have their phone?

Yes, outside of sessions. During workshops and activities, phones are put away so your teen can be fully present.

Can my teen leave camp to visit family or friends?

No personal outings are allowed during camp. All activities follow the official schedule as a group. Only exceptional situations are considered, with a signed letter from the parents.

How will I know how my teen is doing?

Through the parent WhatsApp group, with daily photos and videos, plus livestreams of selected guest-speaker sessions.
